Just curious mostly, I’m still pretty new to Nuendo, but I’ve used most of the stuff out there and in MHO, for mixing Nuendo can’t be beat. Like you said, some could bounce out stems and master in another program. Right now, I’ve been bouncing the mix and using Samplitude and want to make sure there isn’t a better way. So, when you ask how mastering in Nuendo would work, just what do you mean? Bounce your tracks, import them into Bias Peak, WaveLab or Jam to create a sequence and go? That’s a basic, no-frills or special extras approach. “Mastering” means so much more (and less) than it used to… mostly don’t have to worry about needles jumping out of the groove anymore sometimes there’s actual stem mixing involved… sometimes aligning multiple wild sources for live stuff… it all depends on what exactly you’re talking about, mastering-wise. Its a Mac only application that is used for compiling and burning CDs to the Red book standard which can then be. Cambridge for sonic microsurgery, Pultecs, various compressors. Emagics Waveburner Pro is just such a thing. The combination of Nuendo and UAD-1 has been great for me I basically set up a couple of group channels for insert FX, and use the master bus (never to leave unity gain) for metering. Some plugins don't work with it, it's routing is very inflexible, no automation etc. Unfortunately waveburner is not great for applying processing. Waveburner is great for assembling and burning CDs. Whether you use Waveburner or some other software to do the conversion is up to you. Whatever you do just don't turn on PE (pre-emphasis). UAD make some pretty good plugins many of which are quite usable for mastering. Traditionally you'd begin mastering with the highest resolution source file, and reduce down to a distribution resolution (typically 16/44 for CD, or some kbps for online) as part of the mastering process. Don't do any processing or fading in WaveBurner. I'd prefer to send a DDP image, which WaveBurner unfortunately can't make.Įxport 16 bit dithered files from Logic Pro into WaveBurner.
